Local Church Celebrates After Collapse Of Building

City Gates Church in Ilford has gone from strength to strength since their building collapsed in 2012

If you google City Gates Church in Ilford the main stories that you will find are related to the collapse of the multi-million pound state-of-the-art building in 2012. Since then the Church has continued to reshape the narrative. In February of 2016 Senior Pastor Stephen Derbyshire released his second book titled Out of the Ruins. The book details his personal journey and the Church’s resilience over the past few years.

Now City Gates Church is ready to celebrate another milestone. Worship leader Joseph Perry and international worship leader Noel Robinson have brought together other Church members to record a ground breaking worship album called Rebuild. “The title of this new album has a particular significance for City Gates Church in that it relates to our journey following the catastrophic collapse of the church building in 2012. The over riding theme of this album is Christ at the centre.” says Pastor Derbyshire. He goes on to explain, “The album is an expression of not only worship at City Gates Church, but also of our values, purpose and message. My hope is that this album will inspire and help you be more effective in building the Church”.

On Sunday November 12th, at 6:30pm, City Gates will celebrate the release of the album with a launch party in their recently opened state-of-the-art building. This is a free event. The live band will perform songs from the album including the lead single ‘Heart’s on fire’ featuring Pete Chesman, Joseph Perry and Integrity Music recording artist Noel Robinson. “This is going to be an awesome evening of praise and worship,” said a church member.

Rebuild is available for purchase on the night or at www.citygatesmusic.com. City Gates Church is located at 25-29 Clements Road, Ilford London.
